Mac McDougal, The Choral Department

I attended Winthrop University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education in 2005, and a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting in 2006.  I completed my Master's in Educational Administration from The University of South Carolina in May of 2014.  I am an Adjunct Professor of Music for Park University on the Charleston Air Force Base and the Director of Choral Activities at West Ashley High School where I teach multiple ensembles, Fine Arts Appreciation, and Piano I.

During my time at Winthrop, I had the opportunity to perform in many operas.  In 2003, toured with a professional singing group around England for ten days.  During the summer of 2006, I traveled to Concordia College in Minnesota and studied with three internationally known choral conductors: Dr. Rene Clausen, Dr. Weston Noble, and Dr. Rollo Dilworth.

I hope that I am able to give my students the opportunity and tools to be able to experience the same things I have throughout my career.

Our choirs have consistently been ranked as Superior at state festivals and competitions.  We are very proud of the work we do - in our school and around the community - and are proud to be WILDCATS!
