Ellyn Winkles

I was born and raised here in the West Ashley area. After a great Charleston County School District education, I graduated from Clemson University. A veteran of more than 20 years, I have taught English and Theater here in the West Ashley community since 1989. Both of my children are proud graduates of West Ashley High School.

A professional highlight came in 2009 when I was selected as the Charleston County Teacher of the Year. My selection is an endorsement of the fine faculty we have here at West Ashley and the Fine Arts Department as a whole.

I consider it a great responsibility, honor and pleasure to teach your child and love the opportunity to work with them to create theater at its best! Great theater is alive and well not only in the Charleston community, but especially here at WAHS!
