USC Interns
Each semester WAHS hosts an intern from the University of South Carolina. Brining interns into our existing program keeps best practices alive in our media center. The constant evaulation of programs and resources ensures that we offer the best services and resources as well as introduces fresh ideas. |
Freshman Orientation
Each fall all incoming freshman are required to attend a 90-minute freshman orientation into the library media facilities and services through their English class. Students see a video of library procedures, watch a PPT of policies, participate in a media center map activity and book search, and complete an online scavenger hunt through our maze of databases. Students acclimate themselves to the media surroundings to ensure efficient and proper use of the facility throughout their high school experience. |
